These recycled cotton reel bobbin Christmas elves are really cute and you can get really creative making all kinds of Characters.
You will need:
- Wooden Cotton reels (ebay)
- Polystyrene or wooden balls (heads)
- Sharpie Pens
- Acrylic Paint
- Fabrics
- Hessian fabric and string
- Strings
- Buttons
- Low Melt Glue Gun
Simply paint your head or leave it wooden – but add a face. You can be as detailed as you like or very basic – sometimes, the more basic the face, the cuter it is.
Add string hair using the glue gun and then wrap some fabric into a cone shape, gluing together and then sticking onto the head. Once dry, you can add string and buttons to decorate the hat.
Stick the head to the bobbin reel body and then wrap hessian or any fabric around the reel, gluing it in place. Again, adding details such as string, lace and buttons.
