Awwww…we loved making a whole host of these Recycled Cork Characters! From The 3 Little Pigs and Aliens Love Underpants to Superheroes, Farm animals, Princesses, Butterflies, Bees and a full set of Nativity Cork Characters! It is fair to say we got a little carried away making these!
We saved enough Corks to last us quite a while!
What a great excuse to pop those corks!!
The 3 Little Pigs – Cork Characters – Re-tell the story
You could make any number of characters to accompany a range of children’s books to retell the story. They are ideal for small world play!
Aliens Love Underpants Farm Animals The Owl and the PussyCat
My eldest loved animating them using an Iphone and stand, a Free APP and some creativity and imagination! Check out our Instagram and Facebook feeds to see the Stop Motion Animation Videos!
Corks making great Superheroes – we got carried away with a whole host of characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Ninja Turtles, Ninjas…
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
For Princess and Fairy lovers we also make this cute Princess with Fairy Toadstools and recycled toilet roll tube castle – we then animated her using Stop Motion.
Bees and Hives – using painted Egg Boxes to make the honey comb and flowers – see our separate blog post to find out how we made the gorgeous flowers.

Easter Chicks look great made from Corks! They even fit inside these cute little papier mache egg shells!
Cute Butterflies – you could make these in a variety of pretty rainbow colours and string them up. We added a strip of floral patterned washi tape around the bottom of ours too.

Corks would be great painted in rainbow colours with numbers or letters painted on to aid early number and letter recognition. This is something that we are going to make next – once we have collected enough corks!
Christmas and Nativity Scene Cork Characters
This Nativity scene is lovely and you can make the characters as detailed as you like. We made our 3 Wise Men quite fancy!

The Three Wise Men or Three Kings

Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus
Baby Jesus is actually made from a tiny wooden craft ball with felt wrapped around him. He is laying on a Manger made from half a cork, some hessian string and a felt blanket.

The Angel
The Angel’s wings are made from a piece of foam or, you could use white card. We added glitter to make the edges sparkly. Her Halo is made using a Pipe Cleaner and stuck under her wings.

Santa, Rudolph and a Snowman
