How to make Dragon Eggs

Turn simple plastic eggs into magical, decorated dragon’s eggs with a tiny Fimo dragon to go inside!

You will need:

  • Plastic eggs (opening eggs not essential unless adding a dragon!)
  • Low melt glue gun
  • Acrylic paint including metallics and brushes
  • Fimo

Heat the glue gun and simply draw on your pattern – we found lumpy dots simple, spirals or scales – which take some doing! The glue dries quick and is very hot so be careful.

Once dry, decide on your acrylic paint colours. We opted for a base coat initially.

Once that was dry, we then used techniques like dry brushing or sponging to add additional metallic colours.

Leave these to dry. We found leaving them in an empty egg box worked well. In fact, we still store them in one now!

Finally, we decided to make our own tiny Dragon using Fimo. But if you are not creative enough for that, you can buy some lovely minis on Ebay or use any you may have from your small world play items.

We added lots of detail to our Dragon – we think he is super cute!
